·
Warren

before the Legislative review counsel and must be completed by Sept. 29/01.
·
Ministry
staff had recommended a few minor changes, which the partners dealt with just
recently. All changes have retained the
original intent of the Regulation.
·
We
are expecting Regulation approval and implementation by the province effective
November 1, 2001.

Presentation and Discussion
on CSA (Canadian Standards Association) Certification & Developing a
Sustainable Forest Management Plan
§
Warren
briefly re-affirmed that the direction of the pilot project was to pursue CSA
certification as the prime component of developing a Sustainable Forest
Management Plan.
Paul gave a detailed overview of what the six (6)
Criteria are as per the CSA standards using a PowerPoint presentation and
handouts of the Criteria matrix, covering the Values, Goals, Indicators and
Objectives. The group went through an
example as a means of seeing how the pieces fit together.
§
A
discussion followed as to what was the appropriate and logical order to
complete the matrix with the PAG members.
See below for results.
4.
DECISIONS
·
How to proceed with
completing the CSA Criteria and Critical Elements Matrix?
·
The PAG requested that the partners to provide a draft CSA matrix to the PAG circulating it
well before the next meeting.
·
The PAG also requested Canfor to circulate copies of four other completed
matrices that they have developed in concert with PAG’s in other communities.
·
Regarding the review of
other background material such as the Fort St. John LRMP, it was decided that a review of the LRMP would be done before the
group begins work on the CSA matrix requirements for “indicators and
objectives”.
·
Regarding the rate and
schedule for completing the CSA matrix, we will be
targeting completion of input to the “values and goals” over the next two
meetings.
·
The PAG agreed to the above
process for moving forward in providing input to CSA.
·
Next meetings: November 13,
2001 & December 3, 2001.
·
Meeting adjourned at 9:05 pm.
